THON

Penn State Club Swimming Benefiting THON

Help save the lives of children battling cancer by supporting THON. Our organization, Club Swimming, is taking action by uniting with 16,500 student volunteers to raise funds and awareness in the fight against childhood cancer. Since 1977, THON has raised over $180 million for Four Diamonds at Penn State Children's Hospital. Throughout our partnership, we have ensured that over 4,000 families have not seen a single medical bill. In addition, the local research that is being done is making a global impact so that one day, we will find a cure. Each February, THON's yearlong efforts and support for the families culminate in a 46-hour, no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon.
By supporting THON, you will be joining a community committed to conquering childhood cancer.

Meet our THON Families
A’Niah Butler
Picture
A’Niah Butler is one of Club Swim’s amazing THON children! She is a spunky and sassy 12-year-old girl who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in 2014. As of June 2022, A’Niah has been in remission for six years. In Summer 2021, she reached the milestone of being in remission for five years, so A’Niah is now officially cancer free!
While in treatment, A’Niah would always talk about wanting to play football, and in recent years, she has been following her dreams and crushing it on the football field! This past year, she even played games for both the junior varsity and varsity team. Club Swim loves getting to spend time with A’Niah and her family, whether it is watching her tear it up on the football field, or dancing with her on THON weekend. A’Niah has an infectious energy that can light up any room, and we can’t wait to watch her continue to grow up and reach for the stars!

Tyshawn Jennings
The Jennings family joined us for THON 2023 and we are so excited to share information about them here very soon!
